Rotting Christ/Non Serviam/Unisound International/1994 CD Review

Rotting Christ are a band from Greece that is a very well known and legendary black metal band that plays a very dark and atmospheric form of occult black metal and this is a review of their classic 1994 album "Non Serviam" which was released by Unisound International.

Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being thrown in at times, while the synths bring a very dark and atmospheric sound to the music, as for the bass playing it has a very strong and powerful tone with some dark riffing.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffing that sounds like a mixture of early black metal and classic black metal with somewhat of a doomy edge and a great amount of melody mixed in with a more classic traditional metal feel, while the lead guitars are very dark and melodic sounding classic black metal guitar solos.

Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams rooted in the mid 80's to early 90's tradition mixed in with some occasional growls and spoken word ritualistic passages, while the lyrics cover dark and occultic themes with a touch of Greek Mythology, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and atmospheric sound.

In my opinion this was a classic album from Rotting Christ and if you are a fan of this band, you probably already own this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Wolfera The Chacal" "Where Mortals Have No Pride" "Mephesis Of Black Crystal" and "Saturn Unlock Avey's Son". RECOMMENDED BUY.
