Victim Path Interview


1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band? Dark way VICTIM PATH started in 2009. In April 2009 the world got the first demo-album "In life we trust". In the beginning of 2012 the first album "Surrounded by pain" was recorded. The band playing in depressive dark metal genre.


2.How would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recordings? Our sound throughout all activities of the band varied from black metal sound to more melodic dark metal. We tried to music has been well perceived by in the record and in concerts. At the same time we don't want to get a crystal modern sound . It has to be dark and gloomy, with a sad atmosphere.


3.The last album was released in 2012, can you tell us a little bit more about what has been going on the last 4 years? In 2013, we had problems with members in the band. Drummer and vocalist went from the band. For this reason we did not give live shows. But we have continued to engage in leisurely writing music and lyrics for the new album. At the moment, we have found new members and ready for live performances, as well as completing work on a new full-length album.


4.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music? The lyrics of the team are based on the theme of misanthropy, pain, loneliness of a human being who is deprived of a right to be god's creation. The denial of religious postulates, rules and dogmas of everyday life is the main idea of the music of the group.


5.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Vitim Path'? The name has a symbolic meaning. Every person throughout his life sacrificing anything or becomes a victim of anything or anyone. There are many different manifestations of the victims. This devoted to the group’s name.


6.What are some of the best shows that the band has played over the years and also how would you describe your stage performance? Each show was special for us. Playing concerts we get a lot of experience. We really liked how we played the last show with Totalselfhatred in Minsk in May. Our concerts we can characterize as a projection of our thoughts and expressions of reality.


7.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future? We are currently completing work on a new album. In the near future we plan a concerts for the presentation of the finished work. Also, we are open for cooperation and will be happy to play our music live for all who are interested .


8.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of depressive black metal? Differently ... No one is indifferent. Our music love and support, or causes misunderstanding.


9.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future? We do not think about it yet... But I think that everything will remain in the dark black metal way.


10.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays? Each of the band members listen to different music. And the music affects differently on each of members. In our music most influenced depressive black metal and dark metal. Groups such as Shining, Lefelover, Bethlehem, Armagedda and etc.


11.On the album you did a Grob cover, what was the decision behind doing your own version of one of their songs? This group is a good reflection of its time and the atmosphere of the time. And this song is very good approached for the lyrics and the concept of the our album. Also in this way we would like to give tribute to Egor Letov.
